A Case Study: Evaluation Of Science Textbook That Used In 7th Grade In Turkey

Abstract


In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the science textbook currently used in the 7thgrade by the prospective teachers. The sample of the study includes 80 volunteer prospec- tive teachers attending to elementary science department of Amasya Education Faculty. An evaluation scale in the literature which is suitable to the conditions of our country and formed in likert type and the textbook are presented to the sample group. According to the obtained data, it is found that the quantity evaluation to determine the quality of the text- book is at an adequate level. The arithmetic means obtained from the criteria under Organi- zation and Phsical Appearance of the Textbook main titles is lower than the other titles. The necessary proposals are presented to the authors, teachers, prospective teachers and the people who interest on the topic.
